Nepean City Soccer Club
2012/13 Winter Player Development Program - Registration OPEN ! In collaboration with the Ottawa Fury, Nepean City will be providing 2 winter programs for Player Development. These programs are a great opportunity for our players to develop their technical skills and knowledge of the game.
First Touch program (ages U4-7, 2006-2009) The First Touch Program caters to players aged U4-7 (in 2013) who are interested in learning the basic skill sets, understanding of the game, relationship with the ball and most importantly want to have FUN! This program was developed under the advisement of coaches from Tottenham Hotspur, the Canadian Soccer Association's Coaching Development Program - Active Start, and the desire of the Fury technical staff to enhance the development programming. [Details] School of Excellence (ages U8-12, 2001-2005) The School of Excellence Program caters to players aged U8-12 (in 2013). Players will engage in various skill training activities and small-sided games. The main goal of the program and its staff is to teach the technical skill requirements of the game. There will be a large "touch on the ball" focus! Gone are the days of players standing in line watching one player with one ball ... this program will be ball focused and include training sessions touching on all the individual skills required to play the game at the highest level.
