[ Divisions] [ Schedules ] [ Manuals ] [ House League FAQ ] The Nepean City Soccer Club’s House Leagues provides soccer playing and development opportunities for over 1,700 youth from ages 4 to 18 in 14 divisions on 95 teams. The development opportunities are targeted to all aspects of the game of soccer including players, coaches and referees. At the Nepean City Soccer Club we believe house league player development happens by bringing together fun, skilled coaches and the opportunities to play and apply what has been learned. Our format is for teams to play division games twice a week from the end of May through to the end of August. These games include competitive scrimmage time and skills practice in each session. This format maintains the fun level as well as building skills in players. Dedicated practice times are also provided at the beginning of season and periodically through the season. Game rules are also tailored to be appropriate to the age and abilities for each level of player.Coach development is a major activity, concern and priority. Already the club is planning and collecting paper, electronic and personnel resources to support and grow the individual coach and our collective coaching abilities. Ensuring that all coaches, be they helpful parents or dedicated soccer enthusiasts, are able to pass on core skills, attitudes and fitness is important to the Club. We are working hard to ensure that it happens. Developing referees is also important to the club and to the game. Young and old are encouraged to learn the rules which govern soccer worldwide. Through understanding soccer, fair play, another perspective on the game we know that the love of the game can continue and grow. Within the house leagues youth referees have opportunities to both learn, grow and appreciate these secondary aspects of the game.
